We’re looking for an energetic and hands-on Part-Time (32 Hours per week) Duty Manager / Relief Night Manager to help lead our JO&JOE team and keep operations running smoothly - day and night.
This is a dynamic leadership role where no two days are the same. You’ll be the face of the property during your shift, delivering standout guest experiences while overseeing daily operations and supporting the team.
About the role
As Duty Manager, you’ll lead Front Office operations during your shift. As Relief Night Manager, you’ll take charge overnight, ensuring the hotel runs efficiently, safely, and professionally while completing key audit and reporting tasks.
You’ll balance guest service, team leadership, and operational oversight - bringing great energy, strong decision-making, and a passion for hospitality.
What you’ll be doing
- You’ll be right at the heart of the action - running the show on shift, keeping the vibe high, and making sure every guest has a stay worth talking about.
- Create memorable guest experiences – friendly, personal, and always a little unexpected
- Lead the Front Office team from the floor, setting the pace and jumping in wherever needed
- Handle guest enquiries, feedback, and the occasional curveball with confidence and care
- Keep operations running smoothly – from check-ins to daily reporting and everything in between
- Take charge overnight when needed – managing audits, arrivals, and keeping the property safe and secure
- Support, coach, and motivate the team to deliver consistently awesome service
- Work across departments (yes, sometimes Housekeeping too) to keep the energy flowing
- Stay on top of safety, compliance, and making smart decisions when it matters most
- Due to the nature of the hotel industry, flexibility on working weekend and public holidays are required.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in a hotel/hostel leadership role
- Strong Front Office knowledge (Opera/MEWS experience a bonus)
- Confident leader with excellent communication skills
- Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving ability
- Passion for guest experience and team development
- Flexible to work a rotating roster, including nights and weekends
- First Aid Certificate (preferred)
- LCQ / General Manager’s Certificate (advantageous)
