  • 3x full-time permanent positions available (one focussed on family violence and sexual violence (FVSV) operational improvement).
  • 1x 12-month full time, fixed term position.

Te Haeata/The opportunity

We are seeking senior advisors to join the Design and Implementation team within Commissioning and Service Improvement (CSI).

This is a varied role focused on analysing new legislation, policy or complex business problems, assessing options and designing improvements across courts, tribunals and the wider justice sector.

The successful applicant will lead and contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives through figuring out what needs to be done and driving solutions to completion.

The roles require excellent communication and interpersonal skills and provide an opportunity to demonstrate and develop your project management, process design, workshop facilitation, risk management and change management skills.

One of the permanent roles will be assigned to work on our family violence and sexual violence operational improvement programme – you would work on improving people's experience of family violence and sexual violence proceedings in the criminal and family courts. You can expect to work with senior managers, members of the judiciary, staff across the Ministry, as well as agencies that are part of the Centre for Family Violence and Sexual Violence Prevention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with policy and operational teams to assess and implement the impacts of policy and legislative changes.
  • Design and implement operational solutions to complex service delivery challenges.
  • Lead or support projects, including defining scope, planning delivery, and monitoring progress against milestones.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across the Ministry and with external stakeholders.
  • Support and coach members of the team.

Ō Pūkenga/Skills And Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • ability to think critically, develop options and provide high-quality advice
  • experience delivering legislative change or process improvements that work for the people who use them
  • strong project delivery capability
  • ability to analyse complex information, including policy, legislation, and operational data, and translate this into clearly communicated practical solutions
  • strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • experience working with senior stakeholders and across multiple business groups and sector agencies
  • strong plain language written and verbal communication skills and confidence communicating to a range of audiences
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
  • and if interested in FVSV operational improvements, experience and interest in improving people's experience of family violence and sexual violence proceedings in criminal and family courts through cross-agency collaboration, service design, specialist court initiatives, and supporting workforce capability.

Utu ā-tau/ Salary

Salary Range: The appointing salary for this role will be between $ 99,208 and $125,492 based on skills and experience.
