About the role | Mō te tūranga:

We are seeking a reliable and adaptable All-Rounder to support the day-to-day operations of Fond Farewells. In this casual role, you will contribute across a wide range of operational activities, helping to ensure high quality service delivery, efficiency, and compassionate care for our customers and their beloved pets.

Working as part of a close knit team, you will provide support across multiple areas of the business, responding to changing priorities while maintaining professionalism, care, and attention to detail.

This role suits someone who is flexible, practical, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional, compassionate customer service and respond to client enquiries and concerns.
  • Complete administrative tasks including data entry, record management, and documentation.
  • Operate cremation equipment in line with procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Conduct pet collection services from veterinary clinics and other locations, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
  • Collect and transport laboratory samples from veterinary clinics.
  • Prepare memorial products and urns for return to clients with accuracy and care.
  • Support day-to-day operational tasks to maintain quality and service standards
  • Assist team members across all areas of the business as required.

You will bring previous experience in customer service, administration, or a hands-on operational role. You are confident working in a fast paced environment and take pride in delivering high quality, compassionate service.

You are reliable, adaptable, and comfortable managing a varied workload including administration, customer service, operational duties, and driving. You work well independently and as part of a small team, and you understand the importance of treating every pet and family with care and respect.

You will also bring:

  • Previous experience in customer service, administration, or a similar role (essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational ability.
  • Confidence using computers and completing administrative tasks.
  • A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to help across varied duties.
  • A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • Ability to safely lift and move pets of varying sizes.
  • Commitment to health and safety, quality standards, and respectful handling practices.
