Te Tūranga – About the role

As the Gilmours Private Label & Commodities Manager, you’ll play a critical leadership role within our Procurement & Insights team. Responsible for shaping and executing a world-class private and controlled label strategy while managing the end-to-end procurement of key commodity foodservice products (e.g. rice, oils, and essential staples).

This is a strategic, high-impact role where you’ll drive product lifecycle management – from sourcing and pricing to new product development and supplier partnerships. You’ll unlock growth through customer insight, deliver strong commercial outcomes, and ensure brand consistency and ethical sourcing across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading the strategic direction of Gilmours Private Label and Commodities portfolio
  • Owning end-to-end sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management
  • Driving ranging and pricing strategies to balance margin, value, and competitiveness
  • Leading new product development initiatives with internal and external partners
  • Monitoring performance through KPIs and identifying growth opportunities
  • Conducting market reviews and competitor benchmarking
  • Championing private label across stores, sales teams, and stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with brand, packaging, and ethical sourcing standards
  • Building strong supplier relationships aligned to the Grocery Supply Code

You’re a commercially savvy, strategic thinker who thrives in a paced environment and enjoys influencing outcomes at scale. With proven experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, ideally within Foodservice or FMCG - you bring strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills that drive growth and profitability.

You’ve successfully developed and executed private label strategies and know how to balance customer value with commercial performance.

An exceptional communicator and relationship builder, you are confident influencing stakeholders at all levels. Proactive and solutions-focused, you deliver at pace while staying adaptable in a constantly evolving environment. Curious by nature, you’re always looking for smarter ways of working and continuously improving outcomes for the business.
