We are currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in supporting and strengthening our Group EHS Management System. This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging EHS professional who enjoys balancing operational support, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder engagement while making a genuine impact on workplace health, safety, and environmental performance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Group EHS Manager, the Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator will provide corporate EHS coordination and administrative support across the business. You will help ensure consistent implementation of EHS systems, support compliance activities, maintain reporting and documentation standards, and contribute to a proactive and positive safety culture.
Working closely with operational leaders, HR, and site teams, you’ll assist in embedding practical EHS processes, supporting assurance activities, and helping drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple sites.
Here is some of what you will be doing:
- Coordinating and maintaining key elements of the Group EHS Management System
- Supporting the development, review, and control of EHS policies, procedures, standards, and templates
- Maintaining EHS records, risk registers, incident logs, corrective actions, and training documentation
- Preparing EHS reports, dashboards, KPI tracking, and trend analysis for governance and leadership teams
- Coordinating EHS audits, inspections, reviews, and corrective action follow-up
- Supporting incident and near-miss investigations through documentation, tracking, and reporting
- Assisting with EHS communication initiatives, toolbox talks, induction materials, and engagement campaigns
- Supporting operational teams with risk assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, and compliance activities
- Coordinating EHS training records, training schedules, and reporting requirements
- Assisting with environmental compliance and workplace monitoring activities
- Partnering with stakeholders across operations, HR, and leadership teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
You are an organised and proactive EHS professional who enjoys working collaboratively and building strong relationships across a business. You have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Here is what you’ll bring to the table:
- 2+ years’ experience in an EHS coordination or support role
- Experience within manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, industrial, or multi-site environments
- Strong understanding of New Zealand health and safety legislation, including HSWA
- Experience supporting audits, investigations, inspections, reporting, and document control processes
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with confidence using Excel and Microsoft Office
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear and practical documentation
- A collaborative and service-focused approach with strong stakeholder engagement capability
- Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH, NZ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent (advantageous)
