We’re looking for a Merchant Relationship Associate to join our team on an 18-month secondment or fixed term contract, based in Auckland. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and being part of a team that plays an important role in keeping our merchant services running smoothly.

Te Tūranga | The role

This role sits within our Merchant team and plays a key part in supporting the setup, ongoing management, and servicing of merchant facilities, while also working directly with existing merchant customers to support their needs and build strong relationships.

On a Day-to-day Basis, You’ll Be

  • Reviewing applications and checking documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Supporting compliance requirements across merchant facilities, including areas like PCI and Prepayment Exposure
  • Investigating data and working through complex scenarios to manage risk exposure
  • Responding to customer queries, including transactions, settlements, fraud, and chargebacks
  • Working closely with internal teams such as Merchant Sales and Product to support customer needs
  • Helping the team meet deadlines and manage workflows effectively

You’ll be working in a team that deals heavily with data and analysis, so attention to detail and curiosity are key to success in this role.

We’re open to a wide range of backgrounds. Merchant experience is not required as full training will be provided. What matters most is how you approach your work.

You’ll Do Well In This Role If You

  • Have strong attention to detail and enjoy working with data
  • Can prioritise your workload and meet deadlines in a structured environment
  • Are confident analysing information and digging into problems
  • Communicate clearly and build good working relationships with others
  • Are comfortable using systems and tools, including Excel
  • Take ownership of your work and can manage tasks independently

Experience in customer service, account support, or any role where you’ve had to work with detail, data, or process will set you up well.
