Tā mātou arawātea | Our Opportunity

We’re looking for a Maintenance Delivery Lead to lead our skilled team across our hydro generation sites along the beautiful Waikato River. You’ll lead a team of 14 direct reports across Mercury’s centralised maintenance function. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our maintenance teams have what they need, understand what needs to be done and are set up to deliver safe, efficient and high quality work. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background who is ready to step further into people leadership, or an experienced leader who enjoys developing others and improving how things get done.

This role sits at an important point between operations and maintenance. You’ll work closely with site teams, schedulers, contractors and other leaders to support planned maintenance, respond to changing priorities and help improve how we deliver work across our hydro sites.

Role

There is flexibility for this role to be based at any of our sites, with regular tavel across our Waikato River hydro sites with a tool of trade vehicle provided for work use. These sites are:

  • Taupō Gates
  • Aratiatia

  • Whakamaru
  • Maraetai
  • Waipapa
  • Arapuni

You’ll be working across beautiful hydro sites, supporting clean, renewable generation for Aotearoa New Zealand. No two days will be the same, and there will always be something new to learn, improve or contribute to.

  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, planning and scheduling teams to align priorities and resources
  • Be present onsite to support teams, provide guidance, and help remove roadblocks
  • Support reactive and break-in maintenance when additional site support is needed
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying better ways to work, reduce risk and improve efficiency

Tā mātou e kimi nei | We are looking for:

  • A sound understanding of health, safety and risk management practices
  • Confidence working with planned maintenance, scheduling and work management systems
  • Strong communication skills and an adult-to-adult, collaborative approach
  • A practical mindset, with the ability to work through problems and make sound decisions
  • Comfort working across multiple sites and building relationships with a range of stakeholders
