HVAC Technician

Alka Ltd is a fast-growing mechanical and electrical contracting company delivering HVAC installation, servicing, commissioning and labour solutions across major commercial and infrastructure projects in New Zealand. We work with leading contractors and clients, providing reliable technical support, quality workmanship and strong safety performance.

Due to continued project growth and new service contracts, we are looking 3 skilled HVAC professionals to join our service team across Auckland

Role Responsibilities

• Check that fittings, ducts, and piping are inspected and approved before installation.
• Prepare and organise tools and equipment required for installation work.
• Read and follow shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Install HVAC systems and components, including ducting and chilled water piping.
• Coordinate work with other trades on site to ensure smooth installation.
• Monitor own work to ensure it meets quality standards and safety requirements.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and use protective equipment correctly.
• Assist with testing of systems, including duct leakage tests and pressure testing of piping.
• Support commissioning activities, including testing, balancing, and adjusting systems.
• Identify faults or issues and report them to supervisors.
• Maintain basic records of work completed and report daily progress.
• Attend site meetings when required.

Skills and Experience

• 2 Years of Relevent Work experience or Relevent Qualification. A Bachelor's degree or Post bachelor Higher qualification in any field, will be acceptable for this role.
• Strong fault-finding skills and a commitment to quality workmanship
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to health and safety
• Full NZ Driver’s Licence is beneficial for this role.

Job Type: Full-Time Permanent, Minimum 30 hours/week

Pay Rate: $35 – $45 per hour (based on experience)
