This role plays a key function in delivering outstanding customer care as well as contributes to strengthening the construction team in the discharge of its duties and responsibilities.
Main tasks
- All Residential Work - Renovations & New Builds
- To help on a variety of residential projects in Auckland and surrounding areas.
- You will be working alongside other Carpenters on various new builds, renovation, and retrofits on properties across Auckland and surrounding areas.
- This work will include all aspects of general and finishing carpentry on all residential sites.
- Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records
- Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users
- Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Able to construct, erect, install, renovate, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials.
- Renovation work improving living conditions of existing homes
- Variety of building works /demo and retrofit building
- Removing old walls, kitchens, bathrooms, windows, cladding
- Gib fixing and finishing work
- Customised carpentry works
- Ability to work in a team or autonomously
- Valid site safe passport advantageous
- Own set of hand and power tools needed
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug & MOJ check
Skills and knowledge
- Building and carpentry skills
- Knowledge of building methods and materials
- Able to study building plans and architectural drawings
- Select building materials and measure and cut materials to the right size and shape
- Able to construct building frames and install cladding on the inside and outside of buildings
- Install windows, staircases, and doors
- Renovate and do repair work on older houses.
- A basic level of maths
- Able to correctly use and maintain tools
- An understanding of building and safety regulations.
Remuneration: $29.66 per hour
Working Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday
40 hours per week
