Industry and Community Liaison

The Demand Management Team are looking for an Industry and Community Liaison to partner with and manage NMIT's relationships with local industry and community. The role is a Fixed Term, Fulltime role to cover Parental leave. As the first point of contact for external stakeholders, you will work with the Director Demand Management and our Curriculum Areas towards developing and implementing plans and strategies to realise regional skills and training needs which align with the needs of Te Tauihu.
Focused on building relationships and networks, you will be a confident speaker with a high level of communication skills, able to converse with a wide range of people, grow relationships and networks, and strive to articulate the key benefits of partnering with NMIT.
The key responsibilities for the role are:
- Strengthen the connection between Industry, Community and the Institute
- Manage and seek opportunities for partnerships leading to industry projects, partnership training opportunities, graduate role opportunities and scholarship/internships for students and graduates
- Manage sponsorship requests and processes, liaising with relevant curriculum areas to ensure successful engagement
- Meeting the needs of stakeholders, establishing and maintaining effective, positive working relationships through trust, sound knowledge and advice, and collaboration

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the ability to network and engage within local industry and community.
It is essential you have one of the following combinations:
- 10+ years' relevant experience in Marketing, Sales or Communication related roles OR
- Relevant National Certificate Level 4 or 5 Marketing, Sales or Communications related field with 8+ years' relevant professional experience OR
- Relevant National Diploma Level 5 or National Certificate Level 6 in Marketing, Sales or Communications related field with 7+ years' relevant professional experience OR
- Relevant tertiary degree qualification in Marketing, Sales or Communications related field with 4+ years' relevant professional experience
In addition you will have:
- Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations
- Ability to work independently, display initiative and solutions based thinking
- Work well as part of a team
- A sound understanding of the current challenges within the tertiary sector
- Full, clean drivers license
