Technical Project Manager – Building Structures
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our Christchurch Structures team.
In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of complex structural projects, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, future-focused solutions that make a real impact on communities across Aotearoa.
This is a key Project Leadership & Delivery role where you will:
- Lead and manage the delivery of structural engineering projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget and to a high standard
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new opportunities for growth
- Oversee project planning, financial performance, reporting and risk management
- Guide technical delivery including design, feasibility studies, and contract documentation
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and manage design and construction phases
- Mentor and support developing engineers, contributing to a high-performing team culture
- Apply innovative thinking to solve complex engineering challenges and enhance project outcomes
You’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening our Building Structures capability, while contributing to meaningful projects that enhance the built environment.
About You
We’re looking for a commercially aware, technically strong professional who brings:
- A tertiary qualification in Structural or Civil Engineering
- Preferably Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status (or working towards)
- Approximately 8+ years’ experience in structural engineering and project management
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships
- Strong design capability across a range of structural systems (e.g. steel, concrete, timber)
- Sound knowledge of New Zealand standards and design practices (NZ3910 experience advantageous)
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, client-focused mindset
- A proactive approach to mentoring and developing others
- Current, Clean Drivers License
