The role of the Activities and Events Crew Supervisor is to support the Team Leader and the team, which includes:

• Supporting the preparation of Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre for community sport, activations, activities, and events as required.
• To ensure all duties are carried out in line with Christchurch City Council standards and procedures to achieve greater customer connection, familiarity, and retention.
• Respond appropriately to customer needs, including during emergency situations.
• Deliver a positive and engaging customer experience that inspires confidence and promotes a can-do attitude.
• To support and build a positive team culture alongside the Team Lead, including assistance with rostering and other team-related responsibilities.

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei

You're passionate about people and events, and you thrive in busy, community focused environments and you lead by example, you're proactive, positive, and a team player. Ideally, you will also bring:

• Previous experience in a customer facing role in the recreation, sport and event sector.
• You'll bring experience in supervising or stepping into lead roles within a small team.
• Be results-driven, with strong attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks efficiently while managing your own workload effectively.
• You will bring a proactive attitude to the role and a passion for working with people and collaborating across teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of users and colleagues
• Have a current Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (or a willingness to obtain one)

Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre

Parakiore was a Ngāi Tūāhuriri hero renowned for his resilience, determination and agility.

Additional Information | Ko ētahi atu kōrero

Position 1: Thursday to Saturday, 6:30am to 3:30pm. Permanent, part-time. 24 hours per week.

Position 2: Sunday, 3:00pm to 8:30pm. Permanent, part-time. 5.5 hours per week.

Other casuals shifts will become available over busy event periods

• Location: This role will be based at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre, 50 St Asaph Street.
• Salary: The salary band for this position goes from is $61,797 - $68,663 per annum. This amount is based on full-time hours (40 hours per week) and will be pro-rated for the part-time schedules above per week.
