What You'll Be Doing
Venue Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the venue during rostered shifts
- Open and close the venue in accordance with company procedures
- Ensure all areas of the venue are clean, organised, and operating efficiently
- Monitor service standards across the bar, restaurant and function spaces
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints and feedback professionally
Team Leadership
- Lead, supervise and support floor and bar team members during service
- Delegate duties and ensure tasks are completed to expected standards
- Provide coaching, mentoring and on-shift training to team members
- Support staff performance and contribute to a positive team culture
- Manage staffing levels and break schedules to meet service demands
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences and maintain a welcoming atmosphere
- Build strong relationships with members, regular patrons and community guests
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
- Ensure service standards align with venue expectations and hospitality best practice
Food & Beverage Operations
- Ensure responsible alcohol service is maintained at all times
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation and consistency
- Support stock control and minimise wastage
- Assist with cash handling, EFTPOS reconciliation and end-of-day reporting
Compliance & Safety
- Work under and maintain a current New Zealand Duty Manager Certificate
- Ensure compliance with liquor licensing requirements and host responsibility obligations
- Promote and maintain a safe environment for guests and team members
- Manage incidents, intoxication, refusals of service and conflict resolution appropriately
Events & Functions
- Support the delivery of venue events, functions and community activities
- Coordinate service delivery to ensure events run smoothly
- Assist with event setup and pack down when required
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Previous hospitality leadership or supervisory experience
- Current New Zealand Duty Manager Certificate
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Reliable, professional and flexible to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
