About the role | Ko te mahi nei

The Activity & Events Crew members are responsible for maximising the customer experience at Parakiore, this includes:

• Preparation of Parakiore Recreation & Sport Centre as required for community sport, activations, activities and events.
• You will be a go-to point for customers and effectively contribute to the delivery of a branded customer experience while adhering to customer service standards, normal operating procedures and in the event of an emergency.
• To ensure the appropriate set up and pack down of all equipment and event gear resulting in a positive customer experience that is actively engaging, inspires confidence, and a can-do attitude.

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei

You're passionate about people and events, and you thrive in busy, community focused environments and you're proactive, positive, and a team player. Ideally, you will bring:

• Previous experience in a customer facing role in the recreation, sport or event sector.
• Be results driven, have excellent attention to detail and complete tasks in a timely manner with a drive to self-manage.
• You will bring a can-do attitude to the role and a passion for working with people, collaborating across teams and the ability to solve problems.
• A current Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre

Nau mai, tauti mai ki te whare o Parakiore; The name Parakiore has been gifted by Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri Rūnanga and fits perfectly as the name of the Christchurch City Council's newest facility, the Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre. Parakiore was a Ngāi Tūāhuriri hero renowned for his resilience, determination and agility.

Additional Information | Ko ētahi atu kōrero

• Hours: Thursday and Friday 4:30pm to 10:00pm, Saturday, 3:00pm to 8:30pm. Permanent, part-time. 15 hours per week.
• Position: Permanent, part-time. Casual opportunities also available.
• Location: If you are successful in securing a role based at Parakiore, your primary location will be 50 St Asaph Street. In the lead-up to the facility opening, you may be rostered at another Council facility as needed. Some flexibility around your work schedule may be required during this pre-opening period.
• Salary: $28.97 per hour, we pay the current NZ living wage!
