About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance

The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system.

The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity to shape and deliver high-impact communication strategies that strengthen NZTA’s reputation and build strong stakeholder relationships. As Senior Advisor Communications and Stakeholder, you will offer strategic advice and provide hands-on communications planning and delivery for a range of projects and programmes to support our strategy.

You will support the successful delivery of communications, effective stakeholder engagement, and storytelling across ASM, shaping our voice and protecting our reputation. You will drive customer-focused improvements, create engaging content, and inspire the team through supportive leadership and role-modelling a proactive solution-oriented approach.

This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity, until approximately June 2027.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:

• Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field, with professional accreditation (public relations or marketing) and IAP2 certification preferred.
• Strong background in strategic communications and engagement at a senior advisory level.
• Experience leading, mentoring and supporting a small team.
• Proven ability to build and manage effective stakeholder relationships across complex environments.
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible content.
• Broad communications skillset, including public relations, internal communications, event management, marketing and change communication, with a commitment to continuous learning.
