Registered Nurse (Oncology)

About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse to join our Mercy Cancer Care team working at our remote oncology clinic in Invercargill. In this role, you will work independently on-site while providing safe, effective and evidenced-based nursing care centred around excellent patient care.
This is a permanent role offered at 0.4FTE, reporting to and working closely with the Mercy Cancer Care team in Dunedin to support local chemotherapy delivery, reducing the need for patients to travel to Dunedin.
Specific duties include
- Provide optimum patient care in accordance with Mercy Hospital Shared Purpose and Values
- Maintain a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practising certificate
- Ensures patient centred care based on comprehensive patient assessment
- Complies with all relevant nursing legislation, policies and regulations
- Manages resources efficiently and effectively to meet patient health care needs
Some travel to Mercy Cancer Care Dunedin will be required for on-site orientation and ongoing training.

Skills And Experience
- Previous oncology experience with a patient centric approach
- Hold registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, pursuant to the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, as a Nurse and current practicing certificate.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage priorities
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good level of computer literacy.
- A high degree of self-motivation, willingness, and self-responsibility to continually improve and remain current with nursing skills and knowledge.
- High levels of professionalism with an enthusiastic, proactive, flexible approach
