Principal Engineer - SRE

We are looking for a Principal Engineer to help build our E2E Integrated testing environment. This is a key role where you will be managing stakeholders at various levels, as well as providing Analysis and Design of requirements, E2E technical ownership of the environment, technical leadership / mentoring and process improvement.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

As a Principal Engineer, you will act as both a hands-on architect and a strategic leader, you will guide teams, make key technical decisions, and help define solutions that help us deliver our E2E integrated testing environment.

You'll bring significant On Prem and public cloud DevOps engineering, solution analysis and design experience, and solid IT infrastructure experience. You will have to be comfortable with analysing, designing and owning the On Prem and cloud platform technologies. Guiding and enabling teams to implement, configure and automate deployment processes is also part of the role.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Meeting with stakeholders reguarly to discuss and analyse the technical requirements.
• Design and Implement Cloud and On Prem environments - Solution design and implementation.
• Working with relevant service/application squads to host the service/application.
• Ensuring integration between services and applications is established.
• Lead the solutioning of Test data creation and data masking.
• Automate and support infrastructure deployments in Azure and On-prem with infrastructure-as-code solutions.
• Work collaboratively and comfortably taking ownership of work/issues that deliver to user/business outcomes.

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring

• ASB application knowledge (desirable).
• Extensive experience with private cloud architecture, infrastructure and management.
• Experience in relational (preferred) and non-relational database (desirable).
• Extensive experience in creating and maintaining GHES/Azure/Octopus CICD pipelines and GIT/TFS source control.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (one or all the following: Terraform; BICEP), CI/CD pipelines (especially ADO), version control systems (Git).
• Experience creating Kibana dashboards and alerts for exception and health monitoring.
• Prior experience with automation process and orchestration tools. Build, Release and management of the configuration of QA environment.
• Experience working within Agile and DevOps frameworks and has a good understanding of cloud adoption framework.
• Overall technical ownership of E2E integrated testing environment.
• Bring knowledge of new tools, processes and best practices into the squad.
• Enterprise networking and Security knowledge.
• Significant SRE experience and relevant expertise.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (can balance the level of technical detail for the right audience, and can clearly articulate problem statements)
• Azure certification AZ-104, AZ400, AZ-500 and AZ700 are preferred.
