Mō te tūnga | About the role
IDEA Services provides forensic rehabilitation services for people with high and complex needs who have committed an offence and had contact with the justice system. We work in partnership with people to make positive changes in their lives through learning new skills, having new experiences and developing supportive relationships with their whānau and community.
We’re looking for Support Workers with the strength, patience, and heart to step into this space. People who enjoy being active, getting out into the community, and standing beside others as they work toward positive change. You’ll be supporting people to do the things that matter to them — swimming, fishing, playing sport, spending time with whānau.
Part of the role will involve monitoring behaviour and maintaining safety. Dealing with challenging behaviour can be tough, but with the right approach, we can make a difference, promote positive behaviours, and create a supportive environment for people to thrive. This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to be a steady presence, a role model, and a source of encouragement when it’s needed most.
