A unique opportunity to be part of our new Business-focused show for TVNZ weekday mornings.

You will lead TVNZ's Business Breakfast show as a dynamic and visionary Executive Producer, ensuring Business Breakfast is an unmissable part of our audience's morning. In this role you will drive both on-air and off-air teams to deliver intelligent, compelling storytelling and innovative content that informs, entertains, and connects across all platforms.

With overall editorial and leadership responsibility, the role champions bold ideas, inspires creative thinking, and ensures the programme meets quality, budget, and ratings targets.

You'll set the tone for innovation, champion bold ideas, and create content that informs, entertains, and connect every single morning.

You will be a senior leader in our newsroom, championing our work, supporting colleagues and actively helping our teams by being a positive team member - offering content and interview ideas, contacts and solution-focused thinking. You will need to be a strong team player and work alongside Aotearoa's most epic Breakfast team.

This role is based in the Auckland newsroom and you must enjoy the early morning starts.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following :

  • Extensive news journalism experience across television and digital platforms.
  • Proven ability to deliver partnership content and balance audience and client needs.
  • Strong editorial management and integrity with sound business news judgement.
  • Awareness of political and economic landscape and ability to apply insights to programming.
  • Skilled at identifying and implementing emerging trends.
  • Hands-on approach combined with strategic, big-picture thinking.
  • In-depth industry knowledge, including legislation, codes, and NCA policies.
  • Understanding of television production processes and emerging technologies.
  • Broad general knowledge and awareness of local, national, and international news.
  • Skilled in negotiation, influencing, and conflict resolution while preserving relationships.
  • Comfortable operating under pressure in a fast-paced, transformative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize and implement ideas effectively.
  • Adaptability to change, tolerance of risk and ambiguity, and decisive problem-solving.
