The Stock Controller/Registration is responsible for managing and maintaining the dealership's vehicle inventory, ensuring accurate records and registrations are kept up to date. This role requires close coordination with the sales, service, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations related to vehicle stock, compliance, and documentation. Please note this position might be required to work for different sites remotely or on site.

Job Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all vehicle stock, including new and used cars.
  • Monitor vehicle movements between dealerships, storage locations, and customers.
  • Perform regular stock checks to ensure all vehicles are accounted for.
  • Update and maintain the dealership’s inventory management system with current stock levels.
  • Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to track incoming stock and ensure timely delivery.

Registration Coordination

  • Oversee and manage the registration of new vehicles, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national regulations.
  • Prepare and submit necessary paperwork for vehicle registrations and ensure plates are issued in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to ensure all sold vehicles are registered and ready for delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle registrations, titles, and compliance documents.

Compliance And Documentation

  • Ensure that all stock-related documents, including purchase orders, registration documents, and compliance certificates, are complete and properly filed.
  • Assist in managing the administration of vehicle warranties and recall information.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with the sales and service teams to ensure vehicles are available, registered, and prepared for delivery.
  • Support the finance department with documentation related to vehicle registrations and ownership transfers.

General Administrative Support

  • Assist in preparing vehicles for delivery by ensuring all paperwork is complete.
  • Coordinate vehicle transportation logistics as needed.
  • Handle ad hoc duties in the office.

About You

  • Previous experience in inventory or stock management, preferably in the automotive dealership industry.
  • Familiarity with vehicle registration processes and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in using dealership management systems and inventory software.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with different teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with automotive compliance and registration systems.
  • Knowledge of local vehicle regulations and standards.
