Experienced Night CCTV Operator

Join Red Badge Group’s Guarding team as an experienced Night CCTV Operator based at one of our sites in Central Auckland.

This role is working Friday (10pm-6am), Saturday and Sunday (6pm-6am) night shifts. The successful candidate must be able to commit to all of these nights every week.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring & detection — continuously observe CCTV feeds for suspicious activity, trespass, vandalism, theft, and safety hazards
• Incident assessment — rapidly assess events, determine severity, and decide the correct escalation or response action
• Reporting & record keeping — create clear, accurate incident reports, log actions taken, and preserve relevant footage for investigations
• Customer service — maintain professional, calm communication with clients and stakeholders
• Compliance & safety — follow company policies, privacy rules and health & safety procedures at all times.

About you

This role suits someone who is calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and experienced in night-time security monitoring. You’ll be comfortable making judgements, and working independently.

• Previous experience as a CCTV operator, alarm room operator, or similar role
• Strong observation, situational awareness and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and accurate report writing
• Familiarity with CCTV/monitoring software and basic IT competency
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work night shifts that include weekends
• Able to remain alert during long night shifts and manage workload effectively
• Hold, or be able to obtain, a current NZ COA (Certificate of Approval) security licence
• Eligible to work in New Zealand and at least 18 years of age
• Clear criminal conviction record or ability to meet company vetting standards
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity
