We're looking for an experienced Attribute Writer to join our Tendering Team in Canterbury. In this role, you'll lead the development of high-quality non-price tender responses to help position Fulton Hogan for continued success.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
You'll play an important part in helping us submit high-quality tenders that reflect our capability, experience and value. You will lead the development and refinement of non-price (attribute) content for tender submissions, working alongside the bid manager, technical specialists and subject matter experts to produce clear, persuasive and compliant responses that set us apart from competitors and ensure continued success. You will often be tasked with translating construction methodologies, staging and sequencing of works into clear, benefits‑focused narratives that are easy for evaluators to assess.

- Write and edit compelling, accurate attribute responses for tenders, proposals and EOIs, aligned with evaluation criteria.
- Analyse tender documents to understand requirements, scoring frameworks and client drivers.
- Structure and format responses to maximise clarity and ease of evaluation.
- Work closely with bid managers, operational teams and subject matter experts to gather information and shape strong submission content
- Tailor and maintain content libraries and templates to ensure relevant, consistent bid content.
- Assist with bid coordination tasks where required.

- Proven professional writing experience, ideally in bids/tenders or similar.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and persuasive content.
- The ability to interpret complex documents, such as tender or contract requirements and respond in a logical and compelling way.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, consistency and quality.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, familiarity with PowerPoint and basic document formatting/layout tools.
- The ability to understand and clearly explain construction methodologies, staging and sequencing of works.
- An understanding of bid strategy, win themes and value propositions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in the civil infrastructure or construction sector is advantageous but is not essential.
