The Opportunity

We have a fixed term part-time opportunity to join our Events team as an Event Producer. You'll join our dedicated Events team to deliver a dynamic portfolio of community, cultural, and major events that reflect the spirit of Dunedin. You'll also play a key role in supporting communities with expert advice and practical event assistance. This is a varied and fast-paced role, ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, communicates confidently with a range of stakeholders, and brings at least five years' experience in event management or similar fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the delivery of a wide range of city events including cultural events
  • Collaborate across Council teams, with stakeholders and contractors to ensure events are high-quality, on time, and within budget
  • Promote and assess event grant applications in line with Council's funding processes
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives within the Events team, bringing fresh, efficient, and creative approaches

About You

You'll bring experience, energy, and creativity to the role, along with:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or strong industry experience
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative, values-driven approach to work
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A flair for event planning and delivery

What we offer

  • Part-time, fixed term opportunity - 28 hours per week to 26 Match 2027
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Salary range $81,140 - $95,459 per annum (pro rata)
