The role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role supporting project delivery teams to manage costs, minimise risk, and maximise commercial outcomes across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings and specifications, pricing projects from first principles
- Work closely with Project Managers to provide accurate cost advice
- Manage variations, claims, and contractual entitlements
- Track project costs and prepare budgets and forecasts
- Deliver cost reporting and cost-to-complete analysis
- Manage subcontractor procurement and performance
- Oversee procurement processes and supplier engagement
- Prepare and process monthly claims and final accounts
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a QS or Senior QS on projects valued at $20m+
- Background in civil construction (or strong interest in transitioning into civil from vertical build)
- Experience across both commercial management and estimating functions
- Familiarity with NZS3910 contracts highly desirable
- Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent industry experience)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Full NZ working rights are essential
