Our Recreation, Sports and Events teams are hiring now for Multisensory Facilitators for the aquatic sensory experience at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre.
Our aquatic sensory experience is a first for New Zealand and offers a range of interactive water features, a beach pool entry and a space for all ages and abilities to attend and explore. This space offers a truly unique and special experience.

- Facilitate the delivery of a stimulating and safe multisensory recreational experience
- Encourage and support our customers to explore and enjoy the multisensory equipment
- Create and deliver meaningful programs that reflect each customers unique needs and interests
About you | Ko Koe Tēnei
The ideal candidates will bring energy and enthusiasm for making a difference. You will:
- Demonstrate motivation, empathy and a strong passion for creating inclusive recreational sensory opportunities
- Be an excellent communicator who connects with customers effortlessly - either in conversation or written format
- Ideally, you have worked alongside people from diverse cultures, abilities and backgrounds
- Have relevant experience or qualifications in the disability or recreation sectors
Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre

Nau mai, tauti mai ki te whare o Parakiore; The name Parakiore has been gifted by Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri Rūnanga and fits perfectly as the name of the Christchurch City Council's newest facility, the Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre. Parakiore was a Ngāi Tūāhuriri hero renowned for his resilience, determination and agility.

Hours of work
1st package – 8 hours perm. part-time Wednesday 12:30 – 16:30 and Thursday 16:30 – 20:30
2nd package – 8 hours perm. part-time Saturday 08:45 – 12:45 and Sunday 08:45 – 12:45
- Position: Permanent, part-time
- Location: Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre, 50 St Asaph Street.
- Salary: $28.97 per hour, yes, we pay current NZ living wage!
