Our Parking Officers are the face of Auckland Transport. They work to keep our roads safe and clear and provide excellent customer service to our communities. The team play a key role serving Tāmaki Makaurau, educating about parking, the changing cityscape and safety, it’s not just about issuing infringements.

What makes this opportunity a little different is that, alongside on‑street Parking Officer duties, there will be times where you may also support our technology‑enabled enforcement activities. Auckland Transport has developed a fleet of Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) vehicles that manage residential parking and town centre zones, and we also use CCTV for compliance activity, including Special Vehicle Lanes. In these situations, you’ll review data captured from these sources to witness and process infringements for non‑compliant vehicles.

You will undergo comprehensive training to support you to become a warranted officer and to build confidence using the relevant technology suites.

This role is based from our awesome Albany office and is a full‑time position working 40 hours per week on a rotating roster, across 7 days a week between 7am and 7pm.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Clear, confident communication skills with a strong customer‑first approach
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging or conflict situations
  • Good computer literacy, including MS Office, Android devices, and confidence learning new systems
  • Strong attention to detail, with experience in data entry, administration, or accuracy‑focused work
  • Well‑developed organisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • A full, clean New Zealand Driver’s licence and a practical level of fitness for a field‑based role
