Mō te tūranga | About the role

As a Software Specialist (DevOps Engineer), you’ll provide senior technical leadership within your squad while enabling how we build, deploy, and operate software at scale.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on CI/CD, automation, and cloud platform delivery. You’ll work across the full delivery lifecycle - from build and test through to deployment and production support - ensuring our systems are reliable, secure, and continuously improving.

You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, platform teams, and product stakeholders to remove friction from delivery, improve release quality, and enable faster, safer deployments across our technology landscape- including supporting integration and delivery across platforms such as Salesforce.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Designing, building, and optimising CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
  • Driving automation across build, test, deployment, and release workflows
  • Working across cloud and platform environments, supporting scalable, containerised systems
  • Supporting CI/CD and release automation across enterprise platforms, including Salesforce (e.g. SFDX, Copado, Gearset)
  • Embedding engineering standards, quality practices, and reliability controls across delivery
  • Supporting production systems, incident response, and ongoing platform stability
  • Collaborating across squads to improve delivery efficiency, system resilience, and release outcomes
  • Coaching and mentoring engineers to uplift DevOps capability and ways of working
  • Driving continuous improvement across tooling, processes, and engineering practices

Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What will help me succeed?

We’re looking for a technically strong engineer who brings deep DevOps expertise and a continuous improvement mindset:

  • Deep software engineering expertise with a hands-on, lead-from-the-front approach
  • Proven experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or build & deployment roles
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and modern application architectures
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Bicep, Ansible)
  • Experience working with Salesforce environments, including DevOps tooling (e.g. Salesforce DX (SFDX), Copado, Gearset)
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments
