We’re on the lookout for a reliable, enthusiastic Chef to join our catering team supporting the Trinity Schools in Masterton — Rathkeale College.

This is a full time position, perfect for someone who enjoys a hands-on kitchen role with variety. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team delivering quality food across busy school environments during term time, school holidays, and special venue hire functions.

What we offer:

• Up to 40 hours per week (mostly Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends)
• 40-week education contract, plus additional work during school holidays for functions

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality food
• Deliver excellent customer service and enhance the dining experience
• Work collaboratively to maintain a smooth, efficient kitchen
• Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
• Maintain stock rotation and effective kitchen systems
• Uphold food safety, health & safety, and company procedures
• Assist with Meal service
• Identify opportunities to improve operations and customer satisfaction
• Help maintain kitchen equipment and facilities
• Step up to run the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
• Support and work closely alongside the Head Chef
• Be confident working independently and within a team
• Be available for evening and weekend function work across all Trinity School sites

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience in a commercial kitchen
• A positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to different environments
• Strong focus on quality, service, and teamwork
• Full manual driver’s licence (essential)
• Function/event experience is highly desirable
