Council plays an important role in responding to national legislation and policy changes – this mahi is part of our operating environment and is embedded in our everyday mahi. The current proposals from central government are significant, and Council is working through the opportunities and implications. However, our mahi must continue to deliver our three core services for our partners, communities and te taiao (environment).
Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role
This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our Public Transport section. As a primary contact for related administration and coordination activities, you will be responsible for information processing, initial responses and organisation of information critical to the effective delivery of our wider purpose.
Your work will span across the entire Public Transport section, with initial specific focus in the areas of Total Mobility and Customer Feedback, supporting different team members, and gaining insight into all aspects of our business.

- Monitor and respond to community feedback
- Work in partnership with transport operators, including Total Mobility Operators,
- Provide administrative support and system processing,
- Assist in public transport projects

You’ll be someone who's not only tech-savvy but also able to understand how our systems impact our stakeholders and customers. Problem-solving and finding innovative solutions will be crucial for this position. You'll need to confidently interact with both our internal team members and external stakeholders including Total Mobility transport operators on a regular basis.
The world of public transport is dynamic and complex, but also incredibly exciting. You'll need to feel comfortable embracing its challenges. Your ability to adapt and thrive in this space will be key to making a positive impact.

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
You Will Have
- A current full driver’s license
- At least three years experience in a related field (e.g. project administration, customer service, public transport)
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline would be an advantage
