We are looking for a skilled and curious Performance Analyst to join our team and play a key role in transforming complex data into actionable intelligence. In this role, you will collect, validate, analyse, and report on performance and conservation data to deliver high-quality insights, dashboards, visualisations, and reporting that support informed decision-making across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to improve organisational performance and conservation outcomes.

What you will be doing;

  • Develop, maintain, and improve performance datasets, reporting inputs, and reference tables.
  • Cleanse, upload, reconcile, and validate data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Analyse conservation and performance data to identify trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Produce engaging dashboards, visualisations, and reports using Power BI and other BI tools.
  • Support continuous improvement of reporting frameworks, KPIs, templates, and processes.
  • Translate technical findings into clear, concise insights for operational teams and senior leaders.
  • Collaborate across teams and contribute to cross-functional and cross-agency initiatives.
  • Maintain strong data governance, quality assurance, and information management practices.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

You are analytical, detail-oriented, and confident working with large and complex datasets. You enjoy uncovering insights, improving reporting processes, and partnering with stakeholders to influence better business outcomes.

You will bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and at least 2 years’ experience in a business intelligence and/or data analysis role.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting capability.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI, including integration with Snowflake or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript or HTML.
  • Advanced Excel capability, including VBA and VLOOKUPs.
  • Experience developing dashboards, visualisations, and executive-level reporting.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
  • The ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering results.

The salary range for this position is $80,695 - $108,700 with the starting salary of the successful applicant based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
