There is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Planner to join our tight knit Planning Team, based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington . This team is supported by the wider National Planning team of 60 enthusiastic and motivated planners, allowing you to work on a variety of projects and locations across Aotearoa. We are seeking a Senior Planner who shares the same values as we do who is keen to develop their career across Council, infrastructure and energy projects.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Planning Team, you will support delivery and take lead of a range of exciting projects across a variety of industries and business sectors. You will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting the delivery and management of our existing Council client base, which includes achieving their policy, urban growth, infrastructure planning and regulatory planning requirements,
  • Ensuring achievement of outcomes for our other Government and private clients which includes planning for infrastructure projects, energy, forestry, subdivision and land use and more across the Planning discipline.
  • Working beside the rest of the New Zealand & Pacific Service Line partnering with specialists from other disciplines across New Zealand who will be involved in our project work in Wellington.
  • Delivering planning analysis research and outcomes for our clients to ensure delivery exceptional results.
  • Developing, facilitating and enhancing effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members, particularly across other technical disciplines.
  • Establishing strong working relationships with clients, councils, government agencies and the team across SLR.

Skills And Experience

You will also possess the following skills:

  • A professional qualification in planning or other relevant degree.
  • Obtained or working towards full NZPI membership.
  • 5-8 years of planning experience.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and/or leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables on competing timeframes.
  • A clear, concise and professional writing style.
  • An understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
