Senior Digital Experience Analyst (Payments)

At ASB, our Payments platforms sit at the heart of how New Zealand moves money. We’re looking for a Senior Digital Experience Analyst to join our Payments domain, working within a complex, highly regulated banking environment.

This is a delivery-focused, squad-embedded role where you will use data and analysis to shape what gets built, how it is delivered, and how success is measured. You’ll work closely with engineers, product owners and designers to drive clear, actionable insights that improve customer and system outcomes.

About The Role

You’ll join a Payments aligned Agile squad, working across digital journeys and platform capabilities that support high value, high throughput payment systems. The core focus of the role is translating complex customer, product and system data into clear direction for delivery. You’ll play a key role in shaping backlog, refining requirements, and ensuring solutions are well understood, measurable and aligned to outcomes. Alongside analysis, you’ll influence delivery quality ensuring work is refined, testable and ready for execution, and that solutions are effectively delivered and adopted.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Analyse customer, product and system data to identify opportunities to improve digital journeys and platform outcomes
  • Translate insights into clear problem statements, hypotheses and backlog items for engineering teams
  • Work closely with engineers and product owners to shape and refine delivery
  • Ensure work is well defined, prioritised and ready for sprint execution
  • Lead current and future state analysis to support delivery and change adoption
  • Define success measures and track outcomes against expected benefits
  • Partner with UX and design to ensure solutions align to customer needs and business objectives
  • Support release and change activities to ensure smooth delivery and adoption
  • Influence squad delivery to ensure solutions meet requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery practices and ways of working

About You

You’re a senior digital analyst who thrives working alongside engineering teams, turning data and insight into real delivery outcomes. You’re comfortable operating in complex environments where requirements are not always clear, and you take ownership of shaping direction and driving clarity.

You bring a strong delivery mindset and understand how to connect customer insight, technical delivery and measurable outcomes.

You will bring

  • Proven experience as a Senior Digital Experience Analyst or similar role
  • Strong analytical capability, working across customer, product or platform data
  • Experience shaping backlog, refining requirements and supporting agile delivery
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams and product owners
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex problems into clear, actionable work
  • Experience defining success measures and tracking outcomes
  • Experience contributing to delivery in complex or large scale environments

Technical Experience We’re Looking For

  • Digital analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics or similar)
  • Experience working with data sets,dashboards and reporting tools
  • Understanding of agile delivery and SDLC practices
  • Experience working in cross functional squads
  • Strong problem framing and analytical techniques

Nice to have

  • Banking or financial services experience
  • Experience working in Payments ortransaction based platforms
  • Exposure to experimentation, A/B testing or optimisation practices
  • Experience mentoring or contributing to chapter capability uplift
