We are seeking a 3 x Contract Engineers for the following teams

  • South Rural - Based in Manukau
  • Central/HGI- Based in Viaduct
  • North Rural – Based in Albany

The Contract Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Contract Manager in the management of the road maintenance contract and the programming and delivery of road maintenance and renewal works to maintain the road network to the desired levels of service.This role forms part of the combined road maintenance team (AT/supplier) and will support the Contract Manager in establishing and maintaining a strong collaborative working relationship with our supplier to support the intent and objectives of the Collaborative Maintenance Partnership (CMP) contract with both parties taking responsibility for delivery of the contract’s objectives and desired outcomes.

A typical day may include

  • Responsibility for the delivery of road maintenance and renewal works and achievement of the contract’s objectives and desired outcomes in the respective contract area.
  • Reviewing and approving the contractor’s monthly work programmes.
  • Managing the delivery of the annual road maintenance and renewal programmes.
  • Reviewing and certifying the quantity and quality of completed work for payment purposes.
  • Monitoring the carrying out of cyclical maintenance activities.
  • Monitoring the network and ensuring the timely programming of road maintenance and renewal interventions.
  • Providing technical advice and information to the team and others on road maintenance and renewal works.
  • Investigating and responding to customer requests in a timely and customer focused manner that enhances the reputation of AT.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA) and looking for and implementing opportunities to improve the safety of the network for road users.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a relevant discipline or significant proven experience in a similar role.
  • 2-5 years’ post graduate experience in the delivery of road maintenance and/or road renewal/construction activities.
  • Experience in the use of RAMM, including RAMM Contractor, Network Manager and RAMM GIS.
