This is an intermediate level Systems Engineer role, suited to someone looking to build on their existing experience while continuing to develop their capability. Our work supports New Zealand’s civilian and defence sectors across a range of environments, from aviation and maritime through to transport and public infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll contribute to the delivery of complex, mission-critical programmes across their full lifecycle. You’ll work closely with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to understand needs, define requirements, manage risk and safety considerations, and support successful delivery. This is a collaborative environment where you’ll build strong relationships, apply structured thinking, and take a broad, outcome-focused approach to problem solving.
You’ll be supported by experienced practitioners and given opportunities to grow your capability, working across diverse projects and industries. Based in Auckland, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding career path with opportunities for development and progression.

Key attributes for success in this role include a combination of:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
- A strong interest in understanding complex systems and delivering meaningful outcomes for clients.
- The ability to work across disciplines, build effective relationships, and communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Confidence in translating complex information into clear, easy-to-understand insights.
- Experience contributing to the delivery and integration of complex systems or programmes, with an appreciation of achieving strong commercial outcomes.
- The ability to engage with clients and stakeholders to gather, analyse, and define requirements, including supporting business cases or proposals.
- A collaborative mindset, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive team environment.
- Professional membership or accreditation (e.g. INCOSE, IMarEST, IET, RAeS, Engineering NZ), or progression towards chartered status, is advantageous.
Some of our clients require consultants to hold or be eligible for a New Zealand Government security clearance which is a condition for this role. To obtain this clearance requires New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency status.
