We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Manager to join the Joint Military Police Unit (JMPU). This key role will support operational effectiveness by delivering expert information management, governance, and trusted advice in a complex security-sensitive environment.

As the subject-matter expert, you will lead the way in ensuring information is managed as a strategic asset - supporting decision-making, operational delivery, and compliance with NZDF policies, standards and security requirements.

Working closely with leadership and stakeholders across JMPU and wider NZDF, you will play a key role in lifting capability, embedding best practice, and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver effective, secure information management across JMPU.
  • Acting as the unit's SME for information management tools, systems, and practices.
  • Embed compliant processes, standards, and controls.
  • Provide expert advice and influence leadership decision making.
  • Manage and maintaining SharePoint, intranet, and information repositories.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities and driving uplift in information management maturity.

Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is the option for flexible working arrangements.

We're looking for an experienced Information Management professional who can operate in a complex, stakeholder-rich environment.

You'll bring:

  • Strong experience delivering information management services across the information lifecycle.
  • Advanced knowledge of SharePoint (M365), intranet environments, and records management systems.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement and embed processes and standards.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and advise at multiple levels.
  • Analytical, solutions-focused with a continuous improvement mindset

Experience working in a secure, regulated, or government environment will be highly regarded.

To be eligible for the required level of government security clearance with the NZ Defence Force, you need to meet certain citizenship and residency criteria. Here's what you need to know:

Higher Level Security Clearance

  • You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
  • At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years.
  • You must have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
