Court Librarian – Auckland, Permanent Full time

Judicial Libraries is seeking a Court Librarian for the Auckland District Court and Northern Region. The role is based at the Auckland District Court, but you will have the opportunity to work in other court libraries in Auckland and around the Northern Region.

As a member of the Judicial Libraries team, you will be responsible for delivering library and information services to the judges, judicial support staff, and court staff in courts in your region. Regular travel to other courts in your region is part of the role.

Ō Pūkenga/Skills And Experience

If you possess a post-graduate library or equivalent professional qualification and a law degree or previous experience in a legal environment and have experience in delivering information as a service, then this may be the role for you.

To Be Successful In The Role You Should Possess

  • high level communication skills and an ability to build collaborative relationships
  • an understanding of tikanga and reo Māori, and the Treaty of Waitangi
  • excellent computer skills
  • experience in research best practice
  • experience in collection management and development
  • experience in training users in electronic resources, including remotely

You will be part of a large Judicial Libraries team with colleagues in other courts and National Office to support you. You will contribute to wider team projects focusing on improving our research, training, current awareness and collection management services.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The salary for this role is between $74,634 and $95,591, with the appointing salary based on skills and experience.
