Internal Sales - Order Manager

As our Internal Sales / Order Manager in Nelson, you'll be the central point of contact for our customers — handling orders, answering product questions, preparing accurate commercial quotes, and coordinating supply across our branch network and manufacturing teams.
You'll work closely with our Sales Representatives, Engineers, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams to make sure projects are delivered on time and customers are kept in the loop every step of the way. It's a fast-paced position that rewards people who are organised, commercially savvy, and genuinely passionate about customer service.
What You'll Do
- Be the first point of contact for customers by phone, email, and in person — resolving queries and taking ownership of their experience
- Prepare, maintain, and update accurate commercial quotes and product schedules for projects of all sizes
- Plan and coordinate contract supply, liaising with manufacturing, logistics, and the branch network to ensure smooth delivery
- Support the sales team with quote follow-ups and contract fulfilment activities
- Build deep product knowledge to confidently advise customers and provide the right solutions
- Work collaboratively across the wider Hynds team to continuously improve systems and processes
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an internal sales or order management role
- Strong computer skills including Outlook, Excel, and ERP systems
- Sharp attention to detail — you know that an accurate quote is the foundation of a commercial contract
- Commercial acumen and the ability to communicate confidently in business terms
- A team player who is flexible, reliable, and genuinely customer focused
- Calm under pressure — deadlines don't faze you and you keep projects on track even when things get busy
