Performance Health Nurse

In this role, you will provide primary care nursing support, interventions and treatment to elite athlete/patients within the Performance Health Centre. You will work closely with the Performance Health Nurse Practitioner, Head of Sports Medicine, Head of Performance Physiotherapy, Medical Directors of National Sports Organisations, Physiotherapists as well as other internal and external providers.

Position details

This is a permanent role that can be either part-time or full-time, based across the regional training centres at the Grassroots Velodrome in Cambridge and Rowing NZ in Karapiro.

Essential requirements

• Hold a Nursing degree
• Hold an annual practising certificate
• Minimum 4 years post‑registration nursing experience
• Hold a current Level 6 ACLS certificate
• Have experience performing both ECGs and phlebotomy
• Qualified NZ vaccinator
• Have strong communication skills, organisational, IT and clinical coordination skills
• work well in a multidisciplinary team setting
• Full NZ drivers License

Specific training for the successful candidate may be provided as required.

Desirable attributes

• Experience in, emergency, urgent care or primary care settings
• Proven track record of working effectively with a motivated youthful client base
• An interest in sport
