Role

Join our Wastewater Transmission team as an Operations Engineer and help shape the performance of some of New Zealand’s largest and most critical wastewater assets. This is a varied role where you’ll combine technical problem-solving, project support, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver work that has a real impact on the community and environment. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Undertake condition assessment of operational assets.
  • Project support for Watercare's infrastructure department in the execution of projects and renewals.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational solutions.
  • Find solutions to operational problems and coordinate planning and repairs.
  • Manage operational projects and liaise with consultants and contractors.
  • Manage environmental compliance to ensure the best community outcomes.
  • Perform after-hours, on-call duties and be available for rostered work if needed.

You’ll Bring Curiosity, Sound Judgement, And a Practical Approach To Solving Problems. We’re Looking For Someone Who Enjoys Working With Others, Can Balance Technical Detail With Operational Priorities, And Is Motivated By Making a Positive Difference. You Will Also Bring

  • A relevant tertiary level qualification in Engineering or be an experienced practitioner.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience in water or wastewater networks, planning, operations and maintenance, civil or mechanical construction.
  • Excellent communication and customer management skills.
  • Current full NZ Driver's Licence.
