Functional Specialist - WMS
Silver Fern Farms Ltd
Te Tūranga | About the role
Working as part of our Technology and Transformation function, this Functional Specialist – WMS role sits within our ERP applications team, with a strong focus on Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
We are at early stages of implementing our WMS solution, which will become critical to the effective operation of Silver Fern Farms’ supply chain and manufacturing environments into the future. In this role, you’ll ensure these systems are well configured, optimised, and supported, driving efficiency and innovation to enable the business to succeed.
While initially project-focused during implementation (likely over the next 18 months) this role will become an enduring position within the business and remain a cornerstone of the ongoing success of our WMS.
You’ll act as the key link between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating functional requirements into scalable system solutions. From configuring D365 modules and supporting system integrations to troubleshooting issues and leading continuous improvement initiatives, your work will directly impact operational performance.
This is a varied role spanning system support, configuration, testing, user training, and enhancement delivery, with opportunities to contribute to modernisation and low-code solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Ōu Pūkenga | About You
You’re a customer-focused, solutions-driven functional specialist who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology – and communicating with experts from both groups. You take ownership of issues, communicate clearly, and thrive in collaborative environments where you can influence outcomes and drive improvements.
You bring strong functional expertise in D365 WMS systems and a passion for improving processes, supporting users, and delivering reliable system outcomes.
To Be Successful, You’ll Have
- 3+ years’ hands-on technical experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 WMS
- Experience in system configuration, support, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of WMS functionality, workflows, and integrations within the Microsoft ecosystem
- Experience gathering and translating business requirements into functional specifications
- Exposure to Power Platform tools (e.g. Power BI, Power Automate) and/or low-code solutions is advantageous.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience)
Key Attributes We’re Looking For
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Customer-first mindset with a focus on delivering value
- Ability to balance BAU support with improvement initiatives
- Confident stakeholder engagement and communication skills
