Mō te tūranga | About the role
- Provide high-quality legal advice across contracts, procurement, and property matters
- Draft and review legal documents, including agreements, leases, polices, and reports
- Support tender processes, including probity and legal risk assessment
- Contribute to maintaining a centre of excellence and best practice
- Ensure legislative compliance though monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver practical, customer -focused legal solutions

- Strong communicator with the ability to provide clear, practical legal advice
- Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Highly organised with excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
- Able to operate effectively in a fast paced, politically aware environment
- Committed to delivering high quality, customer focused outcomes
Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience
- A law degree and current practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one)
- At least 4 years legal experience, ideally in commercial, property, or local government law
- Strong legal research and analytical skills
- Experience drafting and reviewing contracts and legal documentation
- Knowledge of local government legislation and process
