Our Retail Operations & Transformation team are laser-focused on critical metrics—driving SAP support, efficiency of in-store operations, checkout performance and play a key role with new store openings & ownership changes across all three banners.
Te Tūranga – About The Role
Part of our Retail Operations & Transformation Leadership Team, this is a pivotal role connecting retail strategy with day-to-day execution. You’ll lead the planning and performance discipline across retail operations—ensuring strategy is translated into clear, deliverable plans, and performance is understood, measured, and continuously improved at scale.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor to executives and senior leaders, providing critical insight, forecasts, and performance leadership that improve retail outcomes, operational efficiency, and customer experience across all banners.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Leading the end-to-end retail planning and performance framework, aligning strategy, plans, and execution
- Embedding robust performance disciplines including KPIs, scorecards, targets, and review rhythms
- Delivering high-quality performance insights to support executive decision-making
- Analysing performance to identify opportunities to improve customer experience, productivity, and cost of doing business
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to translate strategy into practical, executable operational outcomes
- Ensuring initiatives are realistically planned, prioritised, and achievable within store environments
- Building strong relationships with store operators and cross-functional leaders to ensure plans are grounded in reality
- Championing a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and commercial thinking

You’re a seasoned planning and performance leader with strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence at the highest levels.
To Be Successful, You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience in planning, performance, commercial analytics, or operational optimisation in large-scale or multi-site environments
- Experience operating at senior manager level, influencing executives and cross-functional leaders
- Deep understanding of retail operations, store economics, and performance drivers
- Proven experience designing and embedding performance frameworks that drive measurable outcomes
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills to engage both senior leaders and store teams
- Strong execution discipline and the ability to prioritise and deliver in fast-paced environments
- High credibility, emotional intelligence, and confidence working at executive level
