Te whiwhinga mahi – Our opportunity
Reporting to the Manager - Legal Executives, this is a true generalist role, where you will manage a wide range of property-related matters including conveyancing transactions, subdivisions, and other matters such as title clearing and assisting with due diligence investigations. You’ll balance fast-paced, high-volume work with longer-term, complex projects, applying sound judgement and strong organisational skills to ensure priorities are managed effectively.
Working closely with Legal Counsel, the Associate General Counsel – Property, and the wider Legal and Risk Directorate, you will also partner with internal teams including Land Advisory, Development, and Finance. Building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external providers will be key to your success.
You may be asked to prepare and review contracts and agreements, and will be expected to resolve documentation issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including process efficiency and document automation. You will also support statutory obligations such as Rights of First Refusal and Public Works Act requirements, while maintaining accurate property records and supporting system improvements.

You Will Also Bring
- NZLS Legal Executive Diploma
- Proven experience in property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and subdivision of land
- Strong knowledge of conveyancing processes and legal documentation
- Experience supporting statutory property obligations (e.g. Public Works Act, Rights of First Refusal) would be advantageous
- Excellent organisational and workload management skills
- Strong written communication skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to build effective working relationships across diverse stakeholders
- A proactive, flexible approach with strong problem-solving capability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and openness to adopting new technology
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgement
