Your Work Will Be Hands-on And Varied, Including

  • Livestock/pasture management and animal health
  • Feed budgeting – working closely with the Farm Manager
  • General farm maintenance and fencing
  • Maintaining records and ensuring environmental compliance

The property brings on 1,000 cows for winter grazing, so there is cropping to support this.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a practical, outdoor environment and brings a strong health and safety mindset to all they do.

Pāmu Landcorp Farming Limited is a State-Owned Enterprise with over 110 farms across New Zealand. Our purpose is to lead the delivery of innovative and sustainable agriculture solutions for future generations.

THE FARM

Brunner Farm is part of Pāmu’s Weka Complex, located 10 minutes from Lake Brunner. This dairy support property comprises approximately 800ha and base stocking rate of 1,400.

About You

You may already be a senior shepherd, or you might be looking for that next step in your career, either way you’re someone who cares about farming, enjoys working with animals, and wants to be part of a team that supports one another and strives for great results.

You Will

  • Enjoy working with livestock and make animal welfare a priority
  • Be organised, reliable, and self-motivated
  • Enjoy working independently – and as part of the team
  • Be comfortable keeping accurate records and using farm technology (or keen to learn)
  • Take pride in safety, wellbeing, and caring for farm assets
  • Hold a valid restricted or full driver licence
