Bid Manager

ConsultANZ is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join a well-established civil contractor delivering complex infrastructure projects across New Zealand. This role will support small to large infrastructure bids across sectors including water, civil, marine, and structures, working within a dedicated pre-contracts team.

Main Duties

• Lead the end-to-end bid process, including EOIs, tenders, and detailed submissions.
• Develop bid strategies, methodologies, and key submission themes.
• Manage bid programmes, ensuring all inputs are coordinated and deadlines achieved.
• Lead and mentor a small bid team (2–3 direct reports).
• Collaborate with estimators, engineers, bid writers, and clients.
• Review commercial, contractual, and risk aspects of submissions.
• Ensure all bids are compliant, accurate, and professionally presented.
• Report directly to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Construction, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in civil construction, project delivery, or pre-contracts.
• Demonstrated experience managing bids for infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and contract frameworks.
• Proven ability to assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Experience across infrastructure sectors such as water, civil, marine, and structures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational capabilities.
• Candy (CCS) experience is advantageous.
