We’re now looking for a QA Technologist to join our National Technical team in Newmarket - an exciting opportunity for a technically strong and commercially aware quality professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
Reporting to the QA Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our Risk Management Programme (RMP), Quality Management System (QMS), GFSI certification, and customer compliance requirements. You’ll provide technical expertise across the business to identify and manage food safety, quality, authenticity, and regulatory risks across suppliers, raw materials, packaging, and the wider supply chain. Your experience in NZ and international food safety and export regulations will ensure the market compliance of our finished products.
What You’ll Bring
We’re keen to hear from candidates with:
- A tertiary qualification in Food Technology or Food Science
- 3+ years’ experience in quality assurance, compliance, or food technology within a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of NZ and international food legislation
- Experience with RMPs, QMS, and Supplier Management Programmes
- Proven capability in auditing, HACCP, and GFSI / private label / customer food safety requirements
- The ability to build strong cross‑functional relationships — including with auditors, customers, and certifiers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence and collaborate effectively
