About The Role
The Trades Assistant role is responsible for assisting the Trade Staff in aspects of the facility maintenance to ensure the preventive, reactive, and planned maintenance of building, plants, grounds, and installations are carried out to enable the effective and efficient operation of all parts of Mercy Hospital.
This is a permanent full-time role, working 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), generally Monday to Friday, with occasional work outside normal hours or days as required to complete tasks.
Specific duties include
- To assist in the maintenance activities relating to the operation of plant, installations, technical equipment and building appearance upkeep on the Mercy campus.
- To assist in maintaining the grounds of Mercy campus.
- To assist to ensure the adequate supply of spare parts and materials are available.
- To understand and implement tasks associated with the building maintenance.
Skills And Experience
- General maintenance skills
- Basic computer skills
- Good time management
- Physically fit and able to lift 20kg
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Basic grounds maintenance knowledge
- Full NZ driver’s licence
- Able to drive a manual vehicle
