Te tūranga | The role

As a Business Manager or Executive Business Manager, you’ll be focused on providing needs‑based banking solutions for SME customers, ensuring their financial needs and goals are met while consistently delivering an unbeatable customer experience.

Using your own networks alongside ASB’s broader connections, you’ll identify new‑to‑bank opportunities and build strong, customer‑driven relationships both internally and externally within the market.

While the current preference is for this role to be based in Hamilton or Wellington, ASB is growing its Business Banking footprint and we welcome interest from strong candidates across Aotearoa and our ASB Regional Centres.

Ō pūkenga | About you

You’re an experienced SME business banker with a strong understanding of the Business Banking market and an established network you can leverage to generate new business opportunities. You bring credibility, commercial awareness, and are a trusted voice within the sector.

Your broad knowledge of the banking and finance industry is complemented by your proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively at all levels.

Your success as a business banker, alongside a solid understanding of banking procedures and policies — including the preparation of credit and lending submissions — demonstrates you have the technical capability required to deliver in this role.
