In Australia & New Zealand our thriving business operates across four cutting-edge industrial bakeries, supported by large scale distribution centres in key locations and fuelled by the dedication and passion of valued employees.

We are currently seeking a results-driven Financial Accountant to join our New Zealand Finance team and play a key role in supporting financial reporting, analysis, and business partnering across our Bakery Operations.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial insights, supporting reporting processes, and partnering with key stakeholders to drive business performance. This role offers a great blend of accounting, analysis, and commercial exposure.

Key Responsibilities will include

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Support periodic reporting cycles, including trial balance reviews and insightful commentary
  • Deliver detailed financial and operational analysis to identify performance drivers
  • Provide actionable insights on variances, trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reporting including sales, P&L, cash flow, and capital expenditure

Accounting & Compliance

  • Prepare and post general ledger journals including accruals, prepayments and amortisation
  • Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations

Business Support

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assist with capital expenditure reviews and approvals
  • Enter financial results into the Group reporting system
  • Support audit requirements and queries
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects
  • Provide cross-functional support across the ANZ Finance team

About You

We are looking for a results-driven and collaborative finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and a pragmatic, hands-on approach.

To be successful you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Working towards a CA or CPA qualification
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Great Plains)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
  • High level of integrity and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Adaptable, flexible, and results driven
