Ventia is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Technician to join their team in Kaikoje. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the grounds around essential water infrastructure, including pump stations and treatment facilities, helping ensure these critical assets remain safe, accessible, and well-presented.
About The Role
Based in Kaikohe, this is a hands-on outdoor role where no two days are the same. You’ll be working across a range of sites, carrying out practical grounds maintenance activities that support the reliability of key community services.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintaining grounds around pump stations, treatment plants, and other water assets
- Mowing and ride-on mowing across various sites
- Weeding and vegetation control
- Spraying and general upkeep of landscaped and natural areas
- Operating equipment such as chainsaws, weed eaters, vegetation sprayers, etc.
- Carrying out general labouring tasks to keep sites clean, safe, and well-maintained

About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in grounds maintenance or similar field-based work
- Is confident using equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, and spray packs
- Has strong health & safety awareness and a commitment to safe work practices
- Is reliable, self-motivated, and physically fit
- Communicates clearly and works well both independently and in a team
- Is organised and able to manage time effectively
- Ideally has experience within roading, construction, or infrastructure environments
Qualifications & Requirements
- Full, clean Class 1 Driver Licence (essential)
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- Class 2 Licence
- Traffic Management, Site Safe, or Growsafe certification
- Experience with small plant maintenance
